High school students in Alanya, Turkey explore PULS academic offer

27.03.2026

Cihan Çalıkoğlu, a PhD candidate at the PULS Doctoral and Faculty of Economics member, visited Nimet Alaettinoğlu Anatolian High School in Alanya (Antalya) to present the educational opportunities offered by PULS.

A group of 17–18 years old students (4th graders in a Turkish high school) showed a great interest in Poland, PULS’ Bachelor’s degree offers and cultural activities organized at the University. Not only general overview information was presented, but also real challenges and opportunities that Turkish students might encounter were discussed. High schoolers were eager to learn more about the admission rules with a Turkish high school certificate, different types of English language certificates, Erasmus+ exchange programmes, activities and living conditions in Poland and the EU, including advantages, as well as living expenses in Poland as compared to other EU countries.

Since Cihan Çalıkoğlu graduated from that high school and several of his former teachers were present (including English teacher, counsellor, sports teacher, and head teacher), students were interested in discussing studying abroad, education paths, and possible career opportunities.

As an example, Cihan’s brother, who was also present during the meeting, explained to high school students that he also completed his Master’s degree in Poland and is currently working in a Polish based company, thus being a good example of a Turkish individual studying and living in Poland.

The visit strengthened the Poznań University of Life Sciences’ visibility in Turkey and marked an important step in fostering connections with local educational institutions. It also contributed to promoting PULS among prospective international students and creating new opportunities for future academic cooperation.
