03.02.2026

From November 12 to 26, 2025, Aneta Stochmal and Martyna Wawrzynów, students of Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Agriculture, Horticulture and Biotechnology, completed an internship at the China National Botanical Garden in Beijing.

Their stay at the National Botanical Garden provided them with an opportunity to gain knowledge and learn about Chinese garden culture. During the internship, they familiarized themselves with classic imperial gardens, their spatial layout, symbolism, and the combination of vegetation and architecture.

Much attention was also paid to old trees, which are an important element of the landscape and have great historical and cultural significance. The students observed traditional garden architecture and methods of protecting and caring for greenery.

As part of the internship, they also visited the Chinese Museum of Gardens and Landscape Architecture, where they learned about the history of the development of Chinese garden art. The internship allowed them to gain practical experience, broaden their knowledge of plant protection, and better understand the traditional gardening methods used in China.

The internship was carried out as part of the cooperation between the University of Life Sciences in Poznań and the China National Botanical Garden.
