From Poznań to Silicon Valley – PULS and PolSV Center partners in global innovation

15.06.2025

The Poznań University of Life Sciences has officially joined the ranks of partners of the PolSV Center - The Poland in Silicon Valley Center for Science, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, a prestigious Silicon Valley-based organization that aims to create a dynamic ecosystem that will drive scientific, technological and economic development by fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The meeting with the presence of Prof. Piotr Moncarz - a prominent scientist and co-founder of the PolSV Center - was a remarkable moment when the collaboration between the Poznań University of Life Sciences and the PolSV Center was officially launched. The partnership agreement was signed by the Rector of the Poznań University of Life Sciences, Prof. Krzysztof Szoszkiewicz, who, expressing his gratitude for this initiative, emphasized that the guarantee of the rightness of this decision is the prestigious group of partners to which the Poznań University of Life Sciences joins.

The cooperation with the PolSV Center was initiated by the Vice-Rector for Science, Prof. Piotr Goliński. “This partnership opens new perspectives for the development of our R&D projects and the organization of training courses and workshops to support the commercialization of the achievements of our scientists and the promotion of innovative solutions and technologies developed by our researchers,” says Prof. Goliński. The coordination of activities resulting from this partnership will be handled by the PULS Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CIiTT).

The PolSV Center supports the development of leaders, innovators and young researchers, placing special emphasis on ethics and sustainability. As Prof. Moncarz highlighted, the Center's mission is to build the visibility of Polish science internationally and strengthen its impact on the national economy through the practical application of research results. "If Poland is to achieve an innovative economy, we must combine the potential of academia, local government, central authorities and the commercial sector. A scientific achievement in the form of an invention is only the beginning - a real innovation becomes when it is implemented and finds a recipient on the market," Prof. Moncarz noted.

The Poznań University of Life Sciences, as the only life sciences university amid the PolSV Center partners, will benefit from expert guidance on the structure of project presentation and implementation of innovative solutions into practice. Joint efforts are aimed at strengthening the role of Polish science in the process of creating a modern and competitive economy.
