PULS and Elektrorecykling S.A. team up to protect the planet

15.05.2026

The Poznań University of Life Sciences (PULS) has launched a partnership with Elektrorecykling S.A., one of Polish companies leading in the professional processing of used electrical and electronic waste. The agreement was signed on May 14 and marks another PULS step toward building a sustainable campus and implementing the concepts of a circular economy.

The partnership includes, i.a. the installation of special e-waste collection spots on campus, allowing students, staff, and locals to dispose of used electrical and electronic equipment in a responsible manner. Elektrorecykling S.A., a company that has been developing modern raw material recovery technologies for 25 years, will be responsible for logistics and professional waste processing.

“The transition toward sustainable development requires strong alliances. Signing the agreement with Elektrorecykling S.A. is not just a formality, but a concrete tool that we are placing in the hands of our students and staff so that we can work together to implement the idea of a circular economy. We are proving that Poznań University of Life Sciences is a place where environmental protection is not only taught, but also put into practice,” – says Prof. Monika Jakubus, the Rector’s representative for sustainable development policy.

The choice of a Wielkopolska-based partner was no random decision. Working with a regional company helps reduce the carbon footprint associated with waste transport and processing, while also supporting the development of local, innovative environmental technologies.

E-waste is the most challenging waste category, as it contains both hazardous substances and valuable raw materials that can be reused. Through proper recycling, it is possible to recover metals and components that are returned to the economic cycle instead of ending up in landfills.

This new partnership is part of the development strategy of the Poznań University of Life Sciences, which is consistently strengthening its efforts in the areas of sustainable development, environmental responsibility, and environmental education. University authorities have announced that the collaboration with Elektrorecykling S.A. is the first of several projects aimed at making the PULS campus a role model of a modern and sustainably-oriented ecosystem.
