PULS' research and educational potential presented in Ankara
On September 22, 2025, the first Forum of Rectors of Polish and Turkish Universities was held in Ankara, the capital of Turkiye, attended by Marcin Kulasek, Minister of Science and Higher Education, and representatives of the academic world of both countries. The event was also visited by Prof. Karolina Pawlak, Vice-Rector for International Relations at the Poznań University of Life Sciences, who presented PULS’ research and educational potential and promoted the English-taught study programs offered by the university.
The Forum, held under the theme “Strengthening academic relations between Poland and Turkiye,” focused on developing cooperation between universities in both countries, with particular regard to academic exchanges, scientific research, and joint development initiatives.
“The Poznań University of Life Sciences dynamically raises its position on the international map. Our English-taught programs attract students from all over the world, and the Forum in Ankara was an excellent opportunity to showcase our potential and establish new contacts with Turkish universities," pointed out Prof. Karolina Pawlak, PULS’ Vice-Rector for International Relations.
During the Forum, significant attention was given to academic mobility programs such as Erasmus+, which form the bedrock of cooperation between Poland and Turkiye. The importance of joint research and development projects and the implementation of Polish language courses at Turkish universities were also discussed.
An essential aspect of this event was the declaration of signing a Memorandum of Understanding at the national level, which is to become the basis for further development of collaboration between Polish and Turkish universities. The agreement reached at the national level is seen as an opportunity to build institutional foundations for cooperation and a new opening in Polish-Turkish relations, and thus to revive research cooperation and the exchange of students and academic staff. The upcoming edition of the Forum of Rectors of Polish and Turkish Universities is scheduled for May 2026 in Gdańsk.
