Project summary: 
The aim of the planned pilot/preliminary research is to determine the feasibility of launching edible insect farming and its profitability from the perspective of food producers. The undertaken research falls within the framework of the theory of sustainable development, food security, and production profitability. The study contributes to the ongoing discussion on the development potential of edible insect farming and the provision of sustainable and environmentally friendly food production for humans and animal feed based on edible insects.

In this context, the researcher conducting the study intends to carry out a survey among domestic food producers. The survey will be conducted nationwide by an external entity based on a questionnaire developed by the researcher responsible for the scientific activity.

The research has an applied character due to the possibility of formulating recommendations for economic policy, particularly concerning the agri-food sector, both in the European Union and in Poland.
