PULS Joins EFSA’s Elite Group of Experts
By decision of the Management Board of the European Food Safety Authority on March 26, 2026, Poznań University of Life Sciences was added to the list of competent organizations—a European network of scientific institutions supporting EFSA in its food safety efforts. This status confirms the University’s high level of expertise and opens access to research projects, EFSA grants, and participation in international scientific consortia.
Thanks to this inclusion on the list, the University’s researchers will be able to actively participate in the work of EFSA’s expert panels and scientific networks, take advantage of internship programs, and collaborate as national experts seconded to the Authority. The University will also gain access to specialized training, webinars, and events dedicated exclusively to institutions on the list.
The Polish EFSA Coordination Point will provide regular updates on collaboration opportunities, including grant competitions, research initiatives, and events organized within the network.
Inclusion among the list of competent organizations also entails certain obligations. EFSA expects institutions to actively participate in its activities and to undergo regular reviews to ensure they continue to meet the criteria of scientific competence, effectiveness, and independence.
The inclusion of Poznań University of Life Sciences on the EFSA list represents a significant step toward the further internationalization of research and the strengthening of the University’s position in the European field of food science and public health.
Achieving this status was made possible by the commitment and hard work of many people. We would like to extend special thanks to Prof. Joanna Kobus-Cisowska, Ph.D., Eng., Mirosław Różycki, Ph.D., Katarzyna Trzeciak, and Prof. Magdalena Zielińska-Dawidziak, Ph.D., whose contributions were instrumental in the inclusion of the Poznań University of Life Sciences in the EFSA network of competent organizations.
